News

Below is a change to the existing first club rules that is going to be submitted for agreement by the SLSGB Sport Committee re eligibility. As you will read you will now be claiming your GB club for the year at the first Regional Event. This would mean the club you compete for in the SLSA Wales Stillwaters will be your club for the year in both SLSA Wales and SLSGB events. Whilst this is not currently in effect they will be accepting this agreement after our stillwaters but it will apply for this competition year.

Therefore should this effect the team for whom you would now like to enter the stillwaters for the entry`s can be changed up until 8pm Friday 19th January.

If you have issues changing your entries then please email sport@slsawales.org.uk

GB Rule Change

1.2.1 General
Competitors are normally only permitted to compete for one club per season. Their first choice club is the one with which they first enter any National or Regional Championship in the calendar year. They are expected to compete only for this club for that calendar year. This prevents composite teams drawn from different clubs participating at National or Regional Championships.

ii.Where a competitor through reasons of work, or household relocations can no longer compete for their first choice club at a National or Regional Championships, they may exceptionally apply to the Sport Committee in writing for a dispensation to compete for the second choice club at a National or Regional Championships. This will only be granted exceptionally taking the individual’s circumstances into account. Letters of endorsement from both clubs will be required to support any such application.

iii.Competitors who are not British nationals, may participate in any SLSGB sanctioned event, provided they fulfil the relevant membership and qualification criteria of SLSGB and club at the time of entry. For the rules regarding transfers from a foreign club, refer to the ILS Competition Rulebook, 2.12, p.30 which can be downloaded from this website.

iv.For the rules on eligibility to compete in International Interclub events, refer to the ILS World Championships Handbook, 3.3, p.6.
