For the 2020 competition year, all clubs will be required to provide a qualified official in order to take part in the event.
Event officials are different from the club helpers (those in the blue vests). Officials are individuals who have been on a recognised officials course run by SLSA Wales or SLSGB.
What if we have nobody qualified
We understand that not every club is in a position where they have qualified officials yet. For the 2020 stillwaters, as long as your club has at least one member signed up to attend the January update and present at the competition, then you will satisfy the entry conditions.
January update.
SLSA Wales will be running an introduction to officiating course for those who are new to the role and then a rule book refresh for existing officials.
Date: Sunday 12 January 1020 Time: Introduction to officiating: 10am - 1pm Rulebook Update 11:30am - 1pm
Venue: VLC, Port Talbot, SA12 6HZ Cost: Free, plus a free carvery
The session will be followed by a 2 course carvery to get to know the existing officials on an informal basis.
