First Minister, Mark Drakeford announced that Wales would move to Alert Level Zero on August 7th. What does Alert Level Zero mean for sport and leisure? Social distancing laws will no longer apply but masks will still be required in indoor public spaces like leisure centres. Businesses (or your club) must continue to undertake a specific coronavirus risk assessment and take reasonable measures to minimise exposure to, and the spread of, coronavirus. Take a look at the current restrictions in more detail:
Here What are the key things to be aware of?
Face coverings are still required in gyms and leisure centres but not while exercising. Face coverings are no longer required in sports clubs, where the principal reason for being there is to consume food and drink.
There are no limits to the number of people who can meet indoors, including in gyms, leisure centres and sports clubs.
Organisations and venues must carry out a cornavirus risk assessment with reasonable measures to be taken where risks are identified.
Facilities such as changing rooms can reopen but you must follow the guidance of your governing body and carry out a risk assessment.
You should follow the guidance of your governing body or facility provider at all times.
Sport Wales Grant Our Be Active Wales Fund is available if you need support to pay for items that are essential for your club or activity to return. Funding is also available to support long-term sustainability.
