Get ready SLSA Wales Members! In April, Trent Maxwell, better known as Lifeguard Maxi from Australia’s Network Ten hit TV show Bondi Rescue, will be UK bound to meet local nippers and Juniors all in the name of spreading the message of Water Safety.

Date: Tuesday 12th April 2022

Venue: Aberavon Beach, Port Talbot

Cost: £5 per member

Session 1: 11am – 12:30pm

Each session will include:

An Educational Talk - where the children will get the opportunity to listen, watch, learn and interact with Maxi as he talks about:

Beach Safety Education, understanding beach signage and how to stay safe at the beach.

Surf Education, recognising a rip, and learning where it is safe to swim.

Self-Care in the sun, how to look after and protect your health in summer.

Intro to Fire Safety education and what to do in the event of a fire.

Final Q&A, recap and your chance to get a photo with Maxi.

There will also be a chance for you to buy a signed set of "Maxi the lifeguard" books (£22 per set of 3).

Clubs can register their members through the form sent to club secretaries.

To make this event fair for all SLSA Wales members we will initially be limiting numbers attender per club.

Initially this will be 4 members, per age group, per club.

On 23rd March those initial places not used will then be reallocated to clubs wanting more spaces.

If children are not lucky enough to be selected they can still come down to the beach to see Maxi and get a photograph just not take part in the talks or training.

To make this day run smooth each club will also need to provide 2 qualified coaches for every session attended. These names will need to be confirmed before the event.
