News

It is with sadness we report the passing of three great stalwarts of surf lifesaving in Wales.

Neil Gordon was a long standing member of Llantwit Major and SLSA Wales and was a tremendous asset to both organisations.

Colin Morris a member of Pen-y-bont SLSC, was SLSA Wales`s first Superintendent Examiner. Colin was instrumental in the early years of SLSA Wales and can be credited for introducing our current President into surf lifesaving and finally;

Reg Whittle. Reg together with his wife Margaret, John David, Frank Clark, Alf Thomas and `Chic` Thomson formed SLSA Wales. Reg was our first secretary and Margaret, our first treasurer. Both were also members of Pen-y-bont SLSC.

Our thoughts and condolences are with all their family and friends and there is no doubt, that without the contribution these three special people give to surf lifesaving, SLSA Wales would not be in the position it is today.

Peter Lake MBE, President SLSA Wales
